I am Senior at Hofstra University, double major in Criminology and Psychology. Prior to coming to Hofstra, I despised writing- actually I was quite terrible at it. Throughout my undergraduate career, I can confidently say my writing ability and style has come a long way. I have learned how to organize my thoughts through the expansion of my creativity as a way to demonstrate my knowledge utilizing a writing outlet.
Not only has my writing come a long way throughout these four years, I have come a long way. As much as college is intended for the pursuit of higher education, you’re also given the incredible opportunity to explore yourself in ways intangible. Reflecting upon my freshman year self, to now my senior year self, I almost don’t recognize the person I used to be because SO much has changed.
My endeavored experiences shaped me into who I am today by giving me the most useful learning lessons, and acquiring skills that seemed far fetched from my capabilities. Ive learned even the most impatient people like myself, can become patient when there’s an exceedingly determined drive to reach a clear goal. Importantly, ive learned the value of the relationships created during this time in my life. Although some are not meant to last forever, there are others I know will last forever.
The countless all nighters studying, mental breakdowns, and the work load that seems never ending makes the accomplishment of graduating worth while. If college was a walk in the park, I wouldn’t feel as though I achieved anything. I worked extremely hard to get where I am today, which is the stepping stone to success in the next stage of my life.
Let’s make something together.
